What is better?
I have no idea how to fight, or defend myself.
Which classes should I take for working out and learning how to defend myself?

Both are great workouts. I have done some kickboxing training and some boxing training in the past, and I like them both. For self defense either would work, but I would personally choose boxing since my legs are kind of short and a little inflexible. I would not be very confident kicking above my waist in a "real" fight. Try a class or two or both and then choose whatever one you like and what fits your own body/needs.

both are great and will give you lots of exercise. about the only difference is that kickboxing uses kicks and there is more moving around with the feet.
aerobic kickboxing will give you a workout but i dont recommend it to learn self defence.
if you have a choice between kickboxing or boxing, i suggest you check out the schools and see which one you like the best.

the student can only be as proficient as the instructor. you need to check out the places in your area and check the credentials of the instructors then go from there
