I am allergic to nickle...I was thinking about a tattoo.
I have heard that they can adjust so the needle is ok to use,but what about the ink? Can they use a special ink, or is the metal content so low it won't bother my allergy? Thanks!

I break out with dermititis (sp) If I touch it in long periods of time. I have a little spot on a ring with it, and I've never had a problem, but my belts make me break out.

The other answer seems a bit misleading. I am not going to conduct a pigment ingredients lesson here but I will tell you that many, many people with nickel allergies get tattooed. I am one of them.

I have tattooed people who cannot hold change in their hands without breaking out; they have to have silicone put on the snaps on their jeans because it eats a hole in their stomachs.

If you are at all worried, have your tattoo artist conduct a skin test.

It's fine to get tattooed with a nickel allergy. Go to a reputable shop and they should use ink with a very low amount of metal in it. The only kind of tattoos you shouldn't get are prison tattoos. They tend to have a higher amount of metal. You probably won't be getting any prison tats anyway so there's nothing to worry about. Just make sure to tell the artist about your allergy just in case they need to make any changes.

Listen to tatt brat she had a good idea doing a test first. My friend Sarah has the same problem, when she wears jeans the button breaks her out. She got a tattoo and had no problems with the ink. But just to be safe do a spot test like tatt brat said : )

you're alot more sensitive to it than I am but I was able to get a tattoo and i'm fine. I can't wear earrings and can't have my ears pierced because of it.

The ink does have metals in it but they are natural metals that would also be present in things like your clothes. Since you had a reaction to a belt buckle... I would suggest going to your artist and getting a spot test done to ensure that you will be ok.

My cat grew to become into allergic to plastic and could get sores round her mouth. ought to be the cat muddle, the nutrition, the cat container, or the bowls. i could tell her to examine with a vet. they can supply her cat some ointment whether it somewhat is an hypersensitivity.

there is no such thing as hypo allergic tatto ink. they all have metal except white ink which kinda sucks, not much you can do there. but what you can do is find an artist that does blacklight tattoing. the ink they use in that is hypoallergic. but the trick there is it is only visible in black light. which could be kinda cool. well good luck:)
