In the twenties thru the fifties, news was delivered in a way that got information across and made you feel upbeat and happy at the same time. There was a nearly constant surge of pride to be had every time the media announced something of importance. This consistant form of medium held a vital part of improving morale in the United States, (corny as it, admittably was).
Why have we, as a culture, turned to imparting a sense of doom and dread to nearly ever story that invades our eyes and ears? It seems that love for our country is almost lost on my generation, (23 years old BTW), and is being replaced with a neurotic and weak stance on most every issue.
Why have we gone down this road of self-hate and disapproval of our own society?
