I would like to know some symptoms that u would find out or at least think that u should get ur tonsels removed. cuz my throat has been hurting really badly i had it a week ago then went away for a couple of days and now its back.

The standard practice is only perform a tonsillectomy if a patient has a documented case of strep throat at least 3 times within a one year period.
That means that either your regular doctor or the ER has to see you so there is medical documentation. Many viruses can infect the body and cause a sore throat as a symptom. Sometimes even allergies can irritate the throat or lining of the esophagus.
If you had strep you would know it because talking and swallowing are extremely painful. Talk to your family doctor.
P.S. The reason doctors use the rule of strep 3 times in 1 year is because for adults tonsillectomies are much more dangerous and people can die. Definately the worst surgey I ever had!
