There wasn't any one decisive battle. There were several major ones that would be considered decisive.
Stalingrad was a huge blow to the German forces and represented the turning of the tide on the Eastern front.
El Alamein is often considered the decisive battle in North Africa.
Battle of the Bulge really wasn't decisive, it slowed down the advance but by that point the Germans were hurting and it really didn't have the potential to change what was by then an inevitable outcome.
Large scale aerial bombing was likely the most decisive factor of anything in securing victory for the allied powers in Europe and the Far East. It was the destruction of industrial output which crippled Germany and Japan.
Like the guy above me said too, the decision to invade Russia was decisive. If Hitler had waited and launched a massive invasion of Britain and was successful in occupying it before turning his forces East, a different outcome was possible. Without Britain as a base of operations, America wouldn't have been able to have the impact they did.
There's no short and correct answer, it was a combination of factors.

1. The Italians (who already had control of Lybia since 1911) tried to push towards the Suez Canal and control international shipping. Mussolini's army did a terrible job at it, and were beaten at every point by the British. Mussolini's regime holds a world record in military disasters. 2. The German Afrika Corps aided the Italians for two reasons: a. aid the Italians (which Hitler's generals didn't want to do) b. capture the Suez Canal, thereby cutting the sea routes through which the Brits supplied their troops in Asia, and also cutting the overland route to the Black Sea, through which Britain supplied the USSR. 3. When the US entered the war, their first move was to North Africa. The German Army was stuck there (British and US ships blocked Germany's ships from the straights of Gibralter and the Mediterranean). If they could defeat the Germans in N.Africa, it would: a. stretch the German Army very thin b. become a staging ground for the invasion of Sicily.

In Europe, Kursk, the largest tank battle in history, the Russians decimated the Germans. The Panzer divisions were never the same after that and could no longer effectively support troops or lead offensives.
N. Africa, El Alamein. Monty got lucky, Rommel was on vacation. It wasn't very decisive, no battle in North Africa was, but it put Rommel's panzers into full retreat and cost him his job in Africa, but it didn't change Germany's control of Europe.

The Battle of Britain was the most important one in Europe. Britain served as the spring board to launch D-Day.
In Africa it was all the bloody battles that kept the Germans from taking Egypt and pushing through to the Persian Gulf and its oil
