This is a very subjective question (as well as a purposefully loaded one I suspect).

First off, people in either country know little of the other ... as a rule, Canadian know more about the U.S. from the exposure to U.S. television and such, but a lot of the information is erroneous; just as much of the far too little information Americans have about Canada tends to be.

Both countries have good points and bad points, both are beautiful. Canada has less crime, for two reasons: 1) gun control, and 2) lower population density (1/10 the population).

I love my U.S.A., even though I disagree with much that is going on with it right now. I also love Canada, and right now it is my chosen adopted country.

At the present time Canadians have more personal freedom. We are not suffering from your Bush/Cheney would-be dictatorship or anything like your gestapo-like Patriot act.

Canada has much less poverty as a percentage of its population and much more income equality and of course everyone is covered by our socialized medical care.

They are both different countries. They have similar cultures, but they are still different countries with different laws and regulations. There are pros and cons to each country.
