Only humans could catch smallpox and that is no longer possible at this point in time. Here is a complete run down on smallpox. Smallpox is the only major infectious disease that has successfully been completely eradicated from the earth through modern medicine. This fact of course assumes that the US and Russia do not use their remaining stockpiles of smallpox virus as weapons at some point in the future.
