I would not think so.

A crime would be committed, but it would not be considered a crime with criminal intent, since the boy would not know that what he did was wrong or understand the full consequences of his actions. In a trial, a lawyer would likely try to argue innocent by reason of insanity (even if the boy wasn't insane, he would be considered mentally incompetent).

yes a crime has been committed. Murder is the crime. Now, the reason for the murder is the issue. if it were a "feral" boy then i would think that would fall under the guilty by reason of insanity defense? maybe?

Murder is a byproduct of "civilized society" Feral Boy would only kill for a valid reason.

Dear Grendel,

Yes because even if a boy was "raised by wolves"... he was created in the image of God which means that he contains certain inherent qualities that allows him to know that murder is wrong.

That's what sets human beings apart from animals. We've a soul, we've a conscience and we don't kill things out of instinct, but out of sinfulness and volition.

Kindly,

Nickster

It would be the same as a mentally ill person committing murder. He would be hospitalized for his own good.

Yes. Homicide.
If a mentally ill person kills someone, it is still homicide, and still a crime.

depends. are they doing it because they were attacked, or have a mental illness? seriously. if they did it out of self-defense, can't really blame 'em: animalistic tendancies of humans are brought out when civilized manners are not cultivated.

Evaluations first, charges second. Leave it to the courts.

Yep. We are born with a conscience, and know that killing is wrong, even if we have not been told so.
