Sounds like you're doing good so far. Reducing fat and adding muscle is the ideal scenario. It also sounds like you are doing a good combination of cardio and strength training. Working in the football is great because it will help break the boredom and avoids you becoming a "gym rat."
The thing that you have not touched on is nutrition. Nutrition is half of the equation here. Are you eating a balanced diet? It's not only about calories or volume, but also about what you eat. Are you very heavy into carbohydrates and sugars? Do you eat too much bread and not enough protein. All of these things are necessary parts of our diets, but too much of any one component can slow down our progress.

how tall are you?
if you still have man boobs and a gut you need to reduce your overall body weight,
you may have replaced some fat with muscle but, how do you figure that you lost 25 lbs of fat and replaced it with 30 pounds of muscle? you just gained five pounds no matter how you look at it.
try strength training and cardio for an hour a day at least( 2-4/12 is ridiculous) and then add at least an hour on the bike daily. Don't kill yourself but work up a good sweat,
watch your calorie consumption.
I'm not a doctor but i stayed at a holiday inn once,. well, actually l i was just there for a few hours :)
keep up the good work.

sounds like your doing good so far. take it up another level and eat a healthy diet. you will have more energy, feel more rested, and life will seem much better. you dont have to completely cut out everything you like. cut back on alcoholic consumption, red meat (burgers, steaks, etc) adn other refined foods. eat more fresh fruit and vegetables. grab an apple or banana on your way to work in the morning.
try fasting for a week. when you dont eat, the body uses all the fat stored up in the form of a big gut and man boobs. the body burns this fat and converts it to energy so you can keep going. after a week you should notice some fat gone.
rock on, dude.
