Obviously he is not ready to compete on the biggest stage, why not get his new cars figured out in the busch series. I know some of his cars race in the busch series, but he needs to get HIS figured out... I am not a Mikey fan at all, I just wanted to know why he does not do this...

Because the sponsorship and team is set up for the big series and the setups on the cars are different. He possibly could jump into one of his Busch rides, but the season is basically lost and that would deprive another driver of seat time (plus an added expense of paying him to sit). What Waltrip has to fear is Toyota execs from overseas coming in and perhaps dumping him as a driver before the year is up and/or dumping his team totally, and taking the other drivers into another Cup program/team that Toyota will fund.

First is his sponsors do not want to go Busch series,Next he has a busch team,And he needs to pool resources with other Toyota teams in R&D and testing to stregthen the product.Dodge did this when they got back into racing and have had some success.
