God is omnipresent in the sense that He is aware of everything and there is no place that He is shut out of. But the manifest presence of God is in the spiritual body of Christ that consists of all born again believers.

1Pe 1:23 since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God;

1Pe 2:5 you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

A church building is just a functional place of gathering although God may choose to manifest his presence upon occasion in a church setting. As Solomon observed:

1 Kings 8:10 And when the priests came out of the Holy Place, a cloud filled the house of the LORD, 11 so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the LORD filled the house of the LORD. 12 Then Solomon said, "The LORD has said that he would dwell in thick darkness. 13 I have indeed built you an exalted house, a place for you to dwell in forever."...27 "But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain you; how much less this house that I have built!

It is unlikely that God would manifest his presence in a church setting that wasn't led by a born again Bible teaching Pastor with a congregation of born again believers.

Every true Church of God, is called the House of the Lord. His presence and Spirit is in every House of the Lord. God is alive and living in all churches, even the ones who disrespect His Holy Name. He is just waiting for the non-believers to call out His name and finally know that God is real. The time will come when that will happen. Perhaps upon the death beds. But they will know , in time. Good prevails over evil and God is waiting for all of us and Loves us all.

The church that is the body of Christ, where He is allowed to be "God", where He is allowed complete freedom to move in His people, in whatever direction in whatever capacity to show and define that He is the LORD of Heaven and Earth and that He may produce a glory that brings glory to His Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ through the fullest measure of the Spirit of God overflowing such a people - that is where God will be found every time!

God does not occupy a building (church building) but He may occupy the hearts of most of the people in the building through the Holy Spirit. Gods home is in the hearts of "born again Christians" as well as heaven.

Well first of all you need to get your definition of church straight. The church is a gathering of God's children. "If Two or more are gathered in my name, I am there with them." That right there is the church. The "True Chruch" I might add.

Your body is a temple (church), but G-d can only be found there if He is welcomed. The church or temple of G-d's Holy Spirit is wherever someone worships and prays to Him in Spirit and in truth.

Someone above me took a bible verse out of context, here's the entirety of it.
pardon me if you weren't trying to convey an untruth, but it did appear a little misleading just to let you know.
Acts:22-34

22Paul then stood up in the meeting of the Areopagus and said: "Men of Athens! I see that in every way you are very religious. 23For as I walked around and looked carefully at your objects of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO AN UNKNOWN GOD. Now what you worship as something unknown I am going to proclaim to you.

24"The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. 25And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. 26From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. 27God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. 28'For in him we live and move and have our being.' As some of your own poets have said, 'We are his offspring.'

29"Therefore since we are God's offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone—an image made by man's design and skill. 30In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. 31For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to all men by raising him from the dead."

32When they heard about the resurrection of the dead, some of them sneered, but others said, "We want to hear you again on this subject." 33At that, Paul left the Council. 34A few men became followers of Paul and believed. Among them was Dionysius, a member of the Areopagus, also a woman named Damaris, and a number of others.

Birds of the same feather will always roost in the same place. There will be a place where what you want to hear is preached,, It might sound good but is it the truth.Look inside your heart that is the church.
