Messages.

I don't care much about best answer, unless I have a new account or something.

I have received both messages and I have to say I prefer "Best answer". I'm always a little nervous when I click on "You have received a message from another user".

I like Best Answers! Sometimes the asker of the question leaves a great comment.

I also like "__ has added you as a contact" even more than receiving a user message, because that's yet another person whose questions I can answer in the morning!

its such a silly question
message from even an enimy is better than being picked the best responser ,but then comes the right of reply and its gone
i like the public record , prefer to reply on the post
yes i click on the messages first but allways with a cringe
should think more when i post
beginning to delete many responses
know i should delete this one too,
guess my uinteraction with people aint what it should be
but hate that the responses are lost ,the questions they post stir up some great rebutals

Actually, either one. If I get best answer I get 10 points. If I receive a message from another user, it is an opportunity to meet someone new.

It's nice when best answer, and a message come to me at the same time, about the same question. The messages usually contain more questions, on similar topics. Following a chain of ideas is a great way to learn about the topic.

Oh I never get those lol ... I have to click on my profile and look at details to see if I have any points lol.

But I'd much rather get a message from another user than points ... except those that are so insulting, I can do without ever having seen them lol

I always click on the "You have received a message from another user" first. But I do so with hesitation, I never know if it's going to be a message from my friends on here or if it's hate mail. I wish it'd show *who* it was from before you opened it.

Best answer. I'm not a big fan of hate mail. I click on the messages first, because the courtesy of a reply may be indicated.

Messages!
The others I put in the Junk mail box. I know my answers were wonderful, I don't need a reminder for all 20 best answers I get every day.

Depends on the message. Like some guy earlier who gave me this huge dissertation on evidence and what does and does not count. To which I spent the next 30 minutes linking bunches of things to him proving I was right and that he didn't know what he was talking a about. This mostly annoyed me having to do his homework for him.
