That's not quite how it works. Every grade you get has it's own point value, so if you were averaging a 95 and an 85, you'd get 90 which is an A, or a 4.0 - but if you did it correctly, you'd be averaging a 3.5 and a 4, which is 3.75 - or B+. So you have to do each grade seperatly and weight them according to how much they were worth.

A GPA of 90.61 would be somewhere between 3.5 and 4.0.

Assuming that's out of 100, divide 90.61 by 100, then multiply by 4. You basically just use equivalent fractions.

90.61 / 100 = GPA / 4

GPA = 90.61 / 100 x 4 = 3.6244
