You really never do. Crushs are a part of life and it helps you have healthy relationships (even tho your not in one with your crush) and have an idea as to what it is your really looking for in your future mate/partner.
Don't beat yourself up over it, now if he is taken then its best you find someone else till he is free. But if not, ask him to go see a movie or hang out and get a pizza with a bunch of friends, like mutual friends.
Enjoy it and have fun!! Life is to short to worry about what you can't have and time to pursue that which you want. Heck, he may be crushing on you and you wont know till you speak up.
Men wont always be the first to jump the gun. I learned that the hard way and could of met my husband earlier if I had spoken up first!!!

Omg. I wish you luck cause it isn't easy. I have a crush and when I was younger (Teenage years) I was crushing huge on this guy. He was cute as sin. I ended up getting rid of the crush.... well guess what it's back.... After 6 years. Damnit anyways.... And yes he's still cute as sin.

don't get over him. It's good to have a crush....it lets you imagine and helps u get through the day! The only way u'll get over him is if something big happens or another guy comes along. Sorry....but that's all I got.

If it's a really hugh crush it will take about five years. But you will get over it. So the answer is yes; you will get over it.

Your just going to have to let it run its corse. I really liked this one guy in middle school and he didnt feel that way I did about him. I had a huge crush on him...for over a year...it was horrible but it had to run its corse.

when i have a crush i wanna get over i sorta point out why we WOULDN'T be good together and it kinda helps me draw away. i pay more attention to my friends and family and watch a really awesome movie. it sucks, i know. i'm sorry! i hope this helps!!! i just got over a crush and this worked for me!

having a crush on someone is not bad. but of it is annoying and you want it to go away just keep telling yourself you don't like the person and soon you won't have the crush anymore. my friend tried it and it worked. It's kinda like brainwashing you self.

Well, the obvious thing you left out is, is this crush date-able material, or hands off? Your age? Way older or younger? Married? A Teacher?
If it's hands off, you'll just have to keep busy with friends.
If it's someone date-able, use your best judgement.
