Hey, as long as you're at it, why not commit a few crimes before you run home. That's what they do here.

Twenty years ago, you'd have had a fair chance. With an increasingly small world, your chances of being found are greatly increased. Banks etc have alliances with debt collectors in other countries so unless your contract specifically states that the debt cannot be sold and that English (or Scots) law applies you will probably be traced and will probably have to pay up, with interest and costs.

Never say never. You may want the option to return one day. One never knows what the future holds. Seek credit counseling and do the Honorable thing. And yes, in some circumstances that can trace you.

You will not be free of your debt, you better check out if your home country has any contracts with the UK for debt and tax recovery.

LOL.......exactly what I figure the illegals will do here when they find they find they're in over their head. Live the good life, use up the citizens benefits, get themselves in debt and then just bail back home to get out of being responsible. Hopefully they will find a way to track deadbeats because good citizens are tired of footing the bill.

No. In your home country, if there are UK and American banks, don't open accounts or apply for credit cards with them. Also, don't open accounts with the largest banks owned by your own country. Big banks throughout the world share the same credit information. Use your spouse's name to open accounts with the medium sized banks owned by your own country. You will be fine, pal.

No. I think that they just want you to leave, already. They'll call it even, if you promise NEVER to come back.
