Because its her first heat we don't want for her to get pregnant. Can I bring the male back home, is it safe???

Spay and neuter, then no problem.

I wouldn't just yet. Females are most receptive at 12 to 16 days. Let your boy stay where he is until she is completely out of her heat. some dogs will mate until the 17th or 18 day of their heat. Better to be safe than sorry.

A dog is in heat for 21 days. It is a good idea to keep them seperated for a month to be on the safe side.

I agree with other posts. At day 15, she may well be at top breeding time in her cycle. To be safe, wait another week. Make sure she gets a good bath before she is re-introduced to the male and is surpervised for a few days .

It's not safe yet. You should wait another week or two until you bring him back home. Why isn't he neutered yet? Fix both dogs so you won't have any trouble later on.
