THE TEACHER IN MY SONS GRADE 8 CLASS SHOWED A CLOCKWORK ORANGE TO THE ENTIRE CLASS WITHOUT A PERMISSION SLIP OR ANYTHING?

IT WAS A MOVIE DAY AND PARTY AND I AM DISTURBED THAT MY SON WAS SHOWN THIS.

WHAT THE **** IS WRONG WITH THE TEACHER??

8th graders tend to 'forget' to bring papers & permission slips home to their parents. Is it possible that he forgot his? Or, forged your signature in order to avoid looking like the dork who's parents wouldn't let him see the movie?

You might want to approach the teacher and school, politely and with dignity, asking for more information on this one.

Well, as said before, it is possible that your son could have "forgotten" his permission slip.
My advice would be to talk to the teacher about it, and voice your concerns. Also, talk to your son about his feelings on the film. I saw A Clockwork Orange when I was 16, and it really didn't bother me, but I can see how it could bother some people. Also, don't think your son is traumatized by this. Kids see a lot more than parents think they do.

The Clockwork Orange is rated "R" so clearly this is a violation. Speak with the Principal and if s/he won't do anything about it, go over her head. This is just wrong. I don't know the legalities around it, but I do know that movie theaters cannot let children under 17 see rated "R" movies without the express consent of a parent.

A Clockwork Orange is not an appropriate movie for any child, especially one who is in the 8th grade. definately alert the school and talk with his teacher. chances are that all the other parents feel just llike you.
Good Luck.

I would bring it up with the school board, a clockwork orange glorifies violence and has no place in a school enviroment.

Well I don't know what to say because I don't know what movie you are talking about. If you're upset just because he was shown a movie, then you better get used to it because a lot of teachers show movies toward the end os the semesters to grade papers and get their own work done.
