Put your cursor below and to the right of what you want to "hold" in place.

On your menu bar, go to Window, Freeze Panes.

This should lock it so your titles stay in place.

To remove it, uncheck it from Window, Freeze Panes.

On screen or printing?

For on-screen, look for the little hash mark at the top of the right hand scroll bar. Drag it to the bottom of the header. Then go to "Window" in the tool bar and click "Freeze Panes." If you need to do this often, you can add the button by going to "View" then "Toolbars" then "Customize" and drag the button into the toolbar.

If you are printing and want the header at the top of each page, go to "File" then "Page Setup." In the "Sheets" tab, click in "Rows to repeat at top," then click on the rows you want at the top of each printed page.

Use the "Freeze Panes" under the Window tool. Window Tool is at the top of the spreadsheet along to File, Edit, View, Insert, ect...

Usually we want them to appear as we scroll for ease of data entry.

Just go to:
File
Page Setup
click the Sheet tab
in the box for "rows to repeat" - empty the box
