~~~~ Are you trying to say Nursery Rhymes and Fairy Tales aren't true? Or are you hinting that the Bible is make believe? I guess I don't understand the question.~~~~
I'm not sure I'm understanding what you're asking. Are you asking this because you think the Bible is just as untrue as nursey rhymes? If so, of course I believed nursey rhymes when I was little and when I was little I also believed the Bible. As I got older, I learned that nursey rhymes were fictional but the Bible is fact. That's the difference, the Bible is true.
I still believe that nursery rhymes are true. Some of them are spells hidden in rhyme from the inquisition. Some of them are true stories about people. People's real names could not be used when printing or telling the news, so they made up rhymes to tell the news about certain individuals. At that time everyone knew who they were about, they just couldn't use real names. No matter what you read there is good to be gleaned from all. Keep an open mind and learn all there is to know out there. Peace and Love
That nursery rhymes were true to what?
Or did you mean "too"?
I read the Bible as a child, and knew the difference. There are "fairy tales" in the Bible. These are called "Parables", and serve the same purpose as fairy tales. There is also a great deal of history and spiritual knowledge in the Bible. There are also things that I disagree with.
To those who equate the Bible with fairy tales in its entirety, you simply show that you know nothing about the Bible. If you did, you would be able to recognize that there are parts that are quite enlightening. There is a great deal of history. If you wish to toss this all out in the ash can, you are really doing yourself a disservice.
I'm not a Christian, but I'm not so ignorant as to turn my back on one of the most influential books ever written simply because I don't agree with it in entirety.
No, they were smart enough to learn how to differentiate between historical works such as the bible and fairy tales, such as life coming from non-life or rising up out of "organic chemicals" such as formaldehyde and cyanide (which is what Stanley Miller would have gotten if he used a realistic atmosphere), that Darwin's Evolutionary Tree somehow still stands despite all the contrary evidence (especially from the Cambrian explosion), or that Haeckel's drawings of embryos had some correspondence with reality.
Hi-
Nursery rhymes do not have prophecy. Did you know that all of the biblical prophecy that has been fulfilled to date has been 100% accurate? This ain't no nursery rhyme sister.
On that note... do you still believe in true love? Or have you come to the conclusion that that is simply a fairy tail too.
No, early on I could pretty much tell the difference between fiction and non-fiction, truth and lies. That's why I trust the Bible as God's word. The atheists' mere claims don't have anything on God's proof.
You didn't finish your question. I have read one Bible all the way through & most of others. It's great ammunition for those who are fed passages & don't know what they mean.
