I don't think its fair to make giant, sweeping generalizations about large groups of people.

I've met people of any religion (or lack of religion) that would double cross me. I don't think that this generalization is possilby a fair or even slightly unbiased question. There are many hypocritical Christians just like there are many hypocritical Athiests. Each are human. Sorry if this somehow offends you. Christians can be just as good of people as Athiests and vice versa. I am sorry if I dissapoint!

While I would like to think that we atheists are better than Christians, we are not. We are all human, and all humans have an inherent worth that is equal to everyone else's. We are all equal. This is self-evident, as Thomas Jefferson said in the Declaration of Independence.
Peace!

Yeah I will pick Stalin, Robespierre, Pol Pot, over Mother Teresa, Pope John Paul II anyday.
You are making a generalization, that is probably not even based on any actual experiences, only another attempt to make Christianity look bad.

As an agnostic individual ~ I find your "question" offensive. Not all Christians, Jews, Catholics, or any other religion are any better than another..... we are all different in our thoughts and opinions on our religious/ spiritual quest. We need to all better respect each other and ask questions that have depth and meaning and stir thought in people no matter what their religious belief or disbelief.

Clearly you are an Atheist who hangs out with your Atheist friend. Your friends wouldn't screw you. Then when you come out of your hole and meet a Christian they are so strange to you that you can't relate to them and assume that they are double crossing you.

We're not and we don't claim to be.
As for the whole Stalin, Pol Pot, etc thing, I would point out that every religion has its monsters too. The difference is that Stalin et al didn't kill people in the name of atheism, just political ideology.

Nobody's better than anyone else really... it's just perceptions and projections... on a certain level we're all empty of inherent existence.
