Does anyone else find that it frustrating that people can voice an opinion for the acceptance of things that a Christian would consider immoral - homosexuality, abortion, etc. all day long but if a Christian voices his or her opinion that these things are wrong, or tries to take a stand for his or her belief, then they are called intolerant and ignorant. Are we not entitled to our opinion too? Aren't the other people being intolerant of us Christians?

You're entitled to your opinion, but I'm entitled to disagree with it. For instance, my church is gay-friendly, and I don't apologize for it for one second. You've got a right to speak out on the issue and say what you feel. Just don't be surprised or offended when the opposing side wants to have their say, too.

Well in truth no matter what your stand or don't stand for there is going to be an opinion and those that agree and those that dis agree. Our problem as people is that when we hear of a view we think its the only one being scrutinized against.I guess its like anything else.We only focus on what we see at the moment and don't realize that we are only seeing or hearing what we want and only half the dilemma.Kinda like racism. You will talk to 100 black people,100 Asian,100 Spanish and 100 white people and no matter what the truth really is, you will find a large number in each that feel the dilemma is completely against them. So, the truth is there is opinion and reality and no matter how long we live on this earth we will never all see things the same.

I have ideas, thoughts and opinions about a great many things, from religion to Iraq to Spiderman 3, and through research, exploration and seeking to find ALL sides of the issue they were formed into well-rounded, well-founded ones.

Those that voice an opinion without looking for the answer in a wide variety of places is an ignorant sheep. If yours is based on information from only one source, or sources that stay inside your comfort zone, then they are weak, hollow and sickly, and will not stand the test of scrutiny by those better informed.

You can have your opinion, you can voice your opinion, but don't you dare come at me with only 'G*d said so' as ammunition, 'cause you've already lost that battle of wits when you closed your mind to seeking the truth.

Yes, they are intolerant. Jesus asks us to love one another and help each other out, and let judging people to God. But that does not mean that we cannot take a stand for our beliefs. I do not care if I am called intolerant. God's word is the same for everyone.

Homosexuality and abortion are real issues that we as a society have to deal with. Touting an opionion based on a character in a book that you can't prove has ever existed is silly. You have every right to say whatever you wish, no doubt, but I have every right to tell you that you're delusional for expecting anyone to bow down to your punishment/reward system found in your bible, when you have yet to show that there is a god that can deal these punishments and rewards.
Prove to me the existance of god(s) ghosts and goblins before you tell me to bow down and fear them, or to "behave" according to said gods will.

no, people can give their opinion.

its when religion goes against science that the name calling starts- like ignorant.
the intolerant thing comes up when instead of saying 'I disagree' its 'I will discriminate'

abortion is a touchy subject. personally I can't believer anyone would want it totally illegal. thats intolerant. if you don't like it, don't have one and try to help women so they won't desire/need them

I can't sympathize with being against homosexuality. there is too much research saying its healthy, natural, not a choice, ect
sorry

You think liberal people are being intolerant when they want to stop you from persecuting a minority, I think you protest too much, I also think you are stretching the interpretations of tolerance and intolerance as far as you can for self-serving reasons. You like to dish it out but you don't like to take it.

You are just as entitled as anyone else to have an opinion. And they are just as entitled as you are to disagree.

They (and you), of course, should disagree without resorting to insults. However, "intolerant" and "ignorant" are closer to criticisms than to true insults.

Suck it up. As Jesus said, if they call him Beelzebub, what will they call his followers?

You're entitled to your viewpoint.

However, when you 'take a stand' by picketing the funerals of homosexuals or clinics that legally perform abortions then you cross the line. Understand?

Relax...I might not agree with you but I'll expect your opinion on what I feel you being intolerant, but hey, that's life.

Intolerance is a currency in our world I'll exchange mine for yours which is called a "debate" or an ill-formed discussion.
