can you take sulfamethoxazole/tmp ds tablnt if you are on dialysis.?

sonja you would have to ask your nephrologist, this drug is not recommended for end stage renal disease. some of similar drugs are used in dialysis patients since they can be dialysed. I did not find information if this can be dialysed or not. if it can be, then it is safe, good luck

Is yours peritoneal dialysis? I saw information speaking to a dose adjustment, but this is a question only your nephrologist can answer, as s/he knows the degree of your renal failure and other pertinent information.
