Canidae, Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul Adult Formula or Large Breed Adult Formula, Innova, Solid Gold, Merrick,Premium Edge, Percise just to nmae a few.
A lot of Dane people feed Canidae All Life Stages. I myself feed that to my Danes. I love it and Danes do very well on this food.
***** it does not need to be a large breed food****

My Great Dane loved Solid Gold, but after a few months she developed chronic diarhea (sp) which is apparently not uncommon.
She has alos eaten Flint River Ranch without any problems, although...
Kibble can contribute to adult/ senior dogs being "chunky" so I feed home cooked food. My vet has done a lot of research, and we follow his recommendations.

Canidae
Innova EVO
Timberwolf
Nature's Variety
Merrick
Wellness
these are the foods that people here recommended to me.
Merrick, Canidae and Timberwolf's websites all say they don't outsource from China so they will NOT be part of the recall.
I am most interested in Timberwolf and Canidae after reading their sites.

I would talk to your breeder and find out what they feed. Giant breeds do have special needs to grow and thrive their best.
Many Dane people are now feeding raw or homemade diets.
If it was mine, I would probably feed a good quality kibble Royal Canin, Nutro Ultra, Innova or something similar and then supplement if needed.
I know low protein is important for puppies or they risk Panno and other issues.

Hello..since so many foods are specialized now..I's stick with foods meant for big dogs, bases on their activity, etc too..as long as it say 100% nutrionally complete, your safe as can be, if you're referring or concerned about the recent Recalls...very few dry dog foods were recalled & they are the best any way...the list is available @ www.fda.gov or www.menufoods.com

Whatever you choose make sure it is a large breed food and it doesn't have any soy in it. Soy can cause bloat in large breed dogs.
