Baptism was by submersion in water. This being a debate among religions there is no disagreement in the Word. These scriptures agree.

Matthew 28
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the NAME of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Acts 2
37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the NAME of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Colossians 3
17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the NAME of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Acts 8
16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the NAME of the Lord Jesus.)
17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

Acts 19
5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the NAME of the Lord Jesus.
6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

Acts 4
6 And Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem.
7 And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?
8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,
9 If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;
10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

NO OTHER NAME!

All examples of those coming to Christ in the NT show that people are baptized immediately. In the case of Lydia and her family it was immediate and in the middle of the night. This tells me that it's pretty important. As for sprinkle vs immersion, if you read the story of Paul and the eunech: they met in the desert but drove all the way to the river for the baptism. I would thnk that if sprinkling was ok Paul certainly had water with him in the desert and would have used it. The drive to the river tells me that immersion is the way to go. As for what they say, I think it's what is in your heart that counts. But you should be baptised for the remission of your sins in the name of Jesus Christ since that is what the Bible states. God Bless

The examples given in the Bible are of immersion, Philip and the eunich went down "into the water". Jesus was immersed. Every example is of immersion. In fact, baptism comes from the Greek word "baptizo" meaning to immerse.

Most preachers I know have taken a confession the Jesus is the Son of God from the person being baptized and say ": Bless you for your confession. I know you believe that Jesus is the Son of God. And because of your confession, I now baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit."

I believe we should be baptized as Jesus was, immersed completely (Matthew 3:16), and in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).

I think your head should go under by the preacher, and right before, you acknowledge that Jesus is God's son and died for your sins.

Also, I am strongly against babies being baptized. What does that accomplish? That baby can't decide yet what he believes. How can a baby accept Christ?

Completely submersed under water with the preacher saying I baptize you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins.

Everything should be done in the name of Jesus.

Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Complete immersion, three times, in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, running water if possible.

Immersion,pouring,sprinkling...it doesn't matter as long as it's done with water in the Name of the Father,Son and Holy Ghost.

i dont believe it is necessary although i have been and was immersed in a tub of water with the preacher saying i baptize you in the name of the Father,Son and Holy Ghost i think the main reason for being baptized is to show you have accepted God this being done in front of others,Jesus said if you deny me before others I will deny you in front of my Father in heaven

The word baptized in greek means submerge, so the correct way is inevitable.
