Hate won't get you too far. Act on it and it'll win you a free trip to prison.

No need, some people will always hold irrational hatreds but the thing to do is to make a level playing field, civil equality is the only decent way forward, manifestations of hatred can usually be dealt with adequately alongside other anti-social criminal acts from there on.

It won't ever be illegal to hate homosexuals--the government does not prosecute people for opinions and beliefs. It is and will continue to be illegal to use hate speech against homosexuals, particularly speech that encourages violenat acts against homosexuals. Crimes committed against homosexuals that are motivated in part by hate can be considered "enhanced," and thus result in harsher penalties.

Note that this is exactly the same way that hate speech/hate crimes towards religious groups is enforced--it's legal to hate any particular religion, but it is illegal to make inflammatory public statements designed to stir up violence against members of that religion.

I have great news for you - you can keep hating every single person in the world, if you so choose.

But hate speech may be restricted; and that's a good thing.

Isn't it funny how those who worship a loving god and his loving son are concerned with hate speech?

By the way, why can't you write the word 'gays'? Homophobic much?

You are ranting against Jews with very racial remarks, now again USA and gays, you speak about a "greatness" that Islam never had, you look like a very hatred Muslim using the Internet to upset some people and mistreat other.

Impossible. The instant a government can regulate one's thought, it would all be over. We'd all be imprissoned. Imagine if it were illegal to hate your boss, your mother-in-law, or broccoli for that matter.

There is a bill passing through the US legislature which would increase the severity of punishment for a violent crime if it can be proven that it was linked to homosexuality. There is great consternation about this since many believe that this will eventually lead to illegalizing speaking against homosexuality.

We Christians need not trouble ourselves one way or the other. We can write our elected reps and complain (I have) and we can petition them and do all manner of other things, but in the end it matters not at all. Whether the government says this is illegal or not, I plan on being obedient to Christ. If He calls something a sin, then so will I even if the entire world tells me I'm wrong.

Remember: the US government gave no one their rights; it merely recognized them. God has given us our rights; therefore, only God can take them away. Do what you think God would have you to do, and fear not.

You can't outlaw hate, unfortunately, but it sssssure sssssounds like you'd like to make it illegal NOT to hate gayssssss. (Those extra esses make you sound like a snake. That seems appropriate.)

I can't imagine you or anyone else asking a question like this. But then seeing the first few answers before mine I can see that there are others with the same narrow minded outlook.

why hate someone it is so stupid. God doesn't so why do you think you can???? God loves....
hating them is something no one can do anythng about (other than tell you you're pathetic) but they will make it illegal to discriminate, or vilify in anyway including acting violent towards someone

no they will not make it illegal, but they will eventually pass laws that give them equal rights just like everybody else.

you will be allowed to continue hating them. but you will not be allowed to deny them service, or rights because of your hate.
