All three Abrahamic religions request that their members date, marry etc within their own religion. Something about being 'unequally yoked'.
Silly, to me, but true.

Some Jews choose to date and marry only other Jews. Others do not. Some Christians choose to date and marry only other Christians. Others do not. Some Buddhists . . .
Do you get the picture? There is no "rule" or "law." There are people in every religion who find religion important in their mate.
This is hardly the reason for the problems in the Middle East!

Without getting into the religious law issues...ie since Jews can only marry Jews based on Torah Law, why start a relationship that has no future under that law.
But from a more general perspective...anyone who believes their particular lifestyle and morality has value will seek to inculcate the next generation with those same values. To achieve this, one would seek out another who shares the same values. This is true of Jews, serious christians, athiests, you name it.
Jews, at least those serious about their heritage, believe that Judaism has intrinsic value...enough so that it is imperative to pass that heritage along to posterity. To best accomplish this, Jews marry other Jews. And as proof that that is the best way to perpetuate Judaism, survey after survey of intermarried Jews has shown that, by the third generation after intermarriage, something like 90% no longer consider themselves Jews.
It is not discrimination, it is survival.

This isn't a distinctly "Jewish" rule, and not all Jews follow it. Devout members of any religion or racial group tend to believe that it is better to marry (or date, since dating can lead to serious relationships that turn into marriage) with in your own group, since your partner will already share the beliefs and characteristics that are such a huge part of who you are.
I know plenty of Jews who date and marry outside their religion; and I have known many Christians and Muslims who refuse to date outside their religion. So don't narrow this down to just one group.
Also, I highly doubt that the strife in the Middle East is due SOLELY to the Jews or a lack of interracial dating.

It's not true that Jews only date other Jews. I dated a Jewish guy when I was in my 20's. We didn't stop dating because of religion. His sister was married to a non-Jew. Check your facts. Maybe try meeting a Jewish person sometime.

well first off its not discrimination because anyone regardless of race can become Jewish.
second its common among all religions to promote its members to marry like minded individuals that will continue the faith.
how much sense would it be for a an ardent communist to marry a passionate capitalist?
in the same vein how much sense dose it make for a two people with conflicting religious views to also marry?

It is kind of discrimination if you ask me.
Jews have a really strick religion, and even without that, some Jews "just want to keep it pure" .

It is just common sense self-preservation. Intermarriage is very destructive to Judaism.
