How did you tell your children about your own adoption and your relationship with your adoptive parents? Some of the stories I have heard are very beautiful and touching.

I was not adopted but I am adopting a 14 year old girl who was abused by both her parents and is in the hospital because of it and has recently found out that she has cancer. When I first told my husband that I wanted to adopt her (we were friends with her family when she was little and then when she was older she one time called me crying about how her mom had beat her and then in about half a year after that I decided to adopt her) but when I first asked my husband about adopting her he said what?! that girl was always so happy and cute and her parents were always such nice people but after he found out everything was true he was very happy to adopt her and he loves her very much now. When I told my two other daughter who were already all grown up they were very excited and when I told my mom about it she said I'm proud of you Katie.
