That depends. A few Q's need to be answered first though. Do you believe in God? Do you believe he sent His Son to save us? Do you believe Jesus established His Church? If He did, is it important to know which one it is? If you answered 'yes' to these, then 'yes' it is important.
For those who have never heard of Jesus, salvation is still possible in this case if the person lives in good faith according to his beliefs.
Cheers :-)

What matter is how you live your life in harmonious relationship with mankind, how you live your life in relation to nature. As God the reflection of what is right so should know that righteousness is His image that created you from. Do not worry so much about how you will be judged if you know you are doing things in the likeness of God. Whatever religion you embrace or profess it is still what you have done good to yourself and to this world will be the one that will take the credit and those mistakes may or may not be charged against you according to the last good things you have done.

I dont believe WHICH religion you subscribe to during life affects you. the basis of ALL religions (save satanism and the occultist paganistic ones) is the same...the golden rule. Treat others as you would want to be treated. This is the one spiritual, ethical, moral code which all major, and minor religions subscribe to.. no matter if they are ethical monotheistism, polytheistic, etc....
The problem lies in those "fundamentalists" who believe in CONVERTING those of another faith to their faith. They simply can't see that what is right to them may just not make sense to someone else, no matter how much pain, punishment, education, etc. that they try to instill in others.
The way your question is stated is suspect. Judgement day and the rapture, etc. are Judeo-Christian based. A hindu or Buddhist does not subscribe to this idea, does that mean that Hindu and Buddhism are any less "righteous" than our western religion? no, just different... but to some (the aforementioned fundamentalists) this difference is enough to fight, kill, and die for.

yes. the get-outta-Hell-free card is only available during life.
you're judged on whether you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior earnestly and repented of your sins, and whether you actually desired God and weren't just pious. Note, Lord is owner and He's perfect and you're commanded to be. there's forgiveness and repentance for His people.
judgement day will be like a bunch of people lined up and God checks if your name is in the Book of Life (born again or died as an infant, or judged apart from the Law), if it's not, you recieve the second death: the Lake of Fire and Brimstone.

All you can do is pick the set of beliefs that best describe you and live your life as you see fit. As long as you did the best you could and were a good person who didn't intentionally harm people, how could any loving deity find fault with you?

Yes it does matter because you are appointed to die but once. Here and now is when you make your decisions not at the feet of God when all is said and done.
Faith now, the proof will become obvious later.

It is my belief that Religion choice does not matter. What maters is that an individual feels whole and complete. It is spirituality that is important, respect for others and inner peace that mater, not what you believe or what name your god goes by. Love and respect yourself and love and respect others.

NO! It doesn't matter. all these people are pulling quotes from the bible and regurgitating verbatim they heard before because they need something tangible to follow. as long as you're a good person and have integrity you'll die peacefully and go to good afterlife.
