If a person could possibly turn their eyes upon JESUS and serve HIM instead of serving themselves ( or breyers cherry vanilla ice cream), they would find meaning in doing GOD's will ahead of their own.

correction. Ecclesiastes basically says everything is meaningless without God. When Jesus came, life was no longer a meaningless thing for everyone because you could make it to Heaven. He even released those who were in Hell because they never had the chance to get saved or didn't actually reject God (Zecharaiah 9:9-13).

Ecclesiastes is technically a very depressing book, or atleast the first 4 chapters. But good to read, especially if you need a reality check.

Why do you people insist that life needs a purpose? Can't you just appreciate it for what it is?

You only get one try at this and then you are dead. Don't waste time trying to relate words in an ancient book to your circumstances. Make the most of your life yourself.

Do you know what Love is? Have you ever tried caring for someone else and not just for yourself? I sure you would find that that kind of Love not expecting anything i return would show you the real meaning of life. But if you would rather you can sit back and feel sorry for yourself and miss out of the greatest part of life, to LOVE others... Jim

Everything only has what meaning we assign it. Including life.

"We are here to drink beer. We are here to kill war. We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that Death will tremble to take us."

Charles Bukowski (1920-1994)

The meaning of life is to keep on living, to grow and expand like the cells in the smallest of things to the solar system. like we did in the past we moved from cave to home from one side of the earth to the other and soon in the future from planet to planet Expand and surviving. increasing our chances of survival more and more. (Live!)
