Peanut butter is very filling, so some people do that. But as for me I've been making my late night salads very leafy so I get fuller off of them. I make them with seasoned tofu, raw spinach leaves, and carrot shreds. Sometimes I put banana pepper rings on them (spicy foods are good for the digestive tract) or sprinkle them with shredded veggie cheese. So far it's helped me to lose 10 pounds in the last three weeks. You also know that if you've got more energy now then you are going to eat more to compensate for all of the calories you're burning. Try eating several small meals throughout the day so you'll always have a comfortable full feeling instead of a really hungry feeling or an overstuffed feeling. Best wishes on getting to your target weight! :)

One thing you need to remember is that your body doesn't care what time it eats, it just needs you to be consistent and not take in more than it can handle. If I take in 1700 calories each day but eat a bunch after 8pm, I could still lose weight. If I eat only twice a day (850 calories) I'll still lose weight, but not efficiently. If I eat my 1700 calories but break it down at 8am, 11am, 2pm 5pm and 9pm, I'm going to burn even more calories because I haven't shut down my metabolism. Eating frequently during the day will keep your metabolism up and running all day long.
So, as long as you are being consistent and aren't starving yourself (too few calories) and are eating at regular intervals, you'll do just fine, even if one of your intervals happens to be at 10pm.
If you really need to eat something that will satiate your hunger and are still concerned about that whole time thing, go for an apple, small handful (1/8c) of dry almonds, a light yogurt (fat free yogurt has no fat but lots of calories)

eat a high fiber meal or snack sice fiber fills you up. Try whole wheat/grain bread spread with a little peanut butter and a 1/2 of banana and a cup of milk. It's very filling and staisfying. Avoid too many carbs and simple sugars after 8pm, cause you dont burn them well as your body starts to shut down for its rest, and they just "sit there" in your stomach all night and are more difficult to turn into energy the next day.

If you are so hungry that you need to eat, choose a very healthy snack. How about an apple, or a handful of cherries? If salty food is more your speed, air-pop some pop corn and salt it. Whatever you plan on eating, make sure it's a healthy option. It can't hurt you to eat past 8pm, but it can hurt if you end up eating an entire chocolate cake, or pint of ice cream.

You don't want anything heavy such that your digestion system will be working overtime while you try to sleep. Keep some raw vegetables (carrots, celery, radishes, broccoli, etc.) handy and drink a glass of water with them. Just eat a handful and drink water. Wait about 20 minutes and to see if you are still hungry. It takes some time for the stomach to tell the brain that it is no longer hungry.

Eat an apple or banana and drink a couple glasses of water. You will feel full. It may also help to go to bed a little earlier so you don't have as much time to snack. Sleep is also a key element to losing weight.

Basically these foods contains so little energy that our body will need more energy to digest it through the long process and absorbs the nutrients. So by eating these type of foods, we hope the calories intake vs outtake balance will be negative.

this is a common effect you get from burning calories. this might mean you arent eating enough during the day. you should have more than three meals a day, try 5 mini meals. and dont eat bagel bites. try something a bit more healthy. dont eat anything too sugary either.

I personally enjoy half an apple with 1 tablespoon of peanut butter. The peanut butter seems to give my body what it needs and the apple is refreshing.
Im with weight watchers and that was what they suggested will satisfy me and it does.
