Ants
you can get http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PESTCLEAR-2000-PESTSTOP-INDOOR-ULTRASONIC-SPIDERS-ANTS_W0QQitemZ290112965059QQihZ019QQcategoryZ75581QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I would also get a raised dog food stand

you could put cups of water down & stand the feeder/stand feet in them so when the ants climbed into the cup they would fall into the water.
dog food storage
http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/search.dll?from=R40&satitle=dog+food+storage
might help for storing the food as they are air tight containers.
Maybe for the flies you could get one of those lantern type things that zap them.
http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/search.dll?from=R40&satitle=fly+killer
hope that helps & maybe getting them off ebay would be a little cheaper that going shops?
hope this helps you.

at night time keep it inside the house or get the dog's bowl covered tight with a wrap or plastic bag.. i bring everything (from dog's bowl to dog's bone) inside the house at night time.. If some bones are left outside and the next morning there are ants all over it, I would just throw it away and give my dogs new ones..
Keep it cover from getting ants or even flies on your dogs bowl..

Ants are easy...flies, good luck!
Put the dog's bowl inside a shallow pan filled with water. Ants can't swim and will drown in the water before they make it into the food. Flies, well they fly...

There is a bowl you can get it is called Fool-A-Bug bowl made by Petmate. Its designed so the sides of the bowl don't touch the ground. I found mine at Petsmart. You can also put corn meal down ants cant digest it so when they take it back to nest and eat it they end up dying. It can kill off a whole colony if the queen eats it. And it won't hurt the animals if they eat it. Flys on the hand I don't know how you keep them out of the bowl. Hope this helps you out. Here is the product site and item : http://www.petmate.com/Catalog.plx?ID=1818

Keep the food inside and don't leave it in dishes at all times - just put it down a couple of times a day to feed the dogs. Store in packaging supplied otherwise, or in a sealed bin or in the fridge otherwise.

When you feed your dog only leave the food down for about 20 minutes. Then pick the food up. this helps eliminate the pests, as well as getting your dog on a diet were you have better control of the calories they are eating

Feed twice daily and pick up & wash the dog dishes immediately after they've eaten their food.
Store their food bag in a rubbermaid petfood container (inside the house.)

What are you feeding ?? It seems ants bother foods that contain sugars more than they do quality dogfoods.. You might want to read your ingredient bag, see if it contains sugar. Otherwise you can only keep the area clean, and keep the ants from the food...

i watched a video in Biology yesterday that said if you cut up toadstools and let them sit in sweet-milk over night then put it out it will kill the flies that try to eat it the only thing is I don't know if it would have an effect if the dog tried to eat it.
