Jude 17-18 - But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, how they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lust."

It is the same now as it has always been. The message of the cross is foolishness to those who do not believe. Christians are demanded to be open minded, we are called judgemental, etc, but as Christ's followers we are the ones being persecuted on a daily basis by people everywhere. Our Lord is mocked every minute of the day. We are being preached at to be tolerant of sin all around us. I don't think we should tolerate tolerance especially within the Christian community.

And to answer your question more fully, they enjoy mocking Christ because they know it offends us, they know it's an easy way to ruffle feathers, and they are no different from those that crucified him.

I'm a believer and I don't agree for two reasons

1. While it may SEEM that Christianity gets the brunt of it, its only because we live in the Western World where it is the dominant religion. If we were living in India or China or the Middle East, you would asking about a different God being mocked.

2. God is far too powerful to actually be mocked by mere humans.

That's all.

Jesus is saying that we need to be kind and not steal, not lie, have no other Gods, I think that people mock God because they dont like the idea of having so many rules. If being a christian was easy, then everyone would be one. We will be persecuted by others until Jesus returns.

Actually, I think you'll find most non-believers have nothing against Jesus - he was a bit of a dude.

It's the whole "omnipotent god", organised religion, "convert or burn in hell" thing that we all have a problem with, and choose to mock.

maybe because Odinists, Zeusians and the rest are not insulting anyone who believes something different.

And I don't see Jesus getting a lot of mocking, just some of his followers.

The World Hates the Disciples

18"If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.
19If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. 20Remember the words I spoke to you: 'No servant is greater than his master.'[b] If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.
21They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the One who sent me.
22If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. Now, however, they have no excuse for their sin.
23He who hates me hates my Father as well. 24If I had not done among them what no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. But now they have seen these miracles, and yet they have hated both me and my Father.
25But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: 'They hated me without reason.'[c]

That's because we have the Truth.

People aren't concerned with a lie.

That's because this is predominantly an American website, and Christianity is the dominant religion.

That's all there is to it, honey. It does nothing to support your cause. Sorry.
