No -- every Jew I have ever met refers to himself as a Jew.

And I have met a lot of them.

No. first of all, Jews are not a race, they are a religious group. An Arab can convert to Judaism and still be Arab. Second, Jewish person is too long, and the bible (including the Jewish Scriptures) refers to Jews as such, so it's not

Not unless you mean it to, but other perceptions are considered...

Only you can say if it is racist or not, however try this sentence:

A jew just smiled at me

A jewish person just smiled at me

If read by the same person, it could be said that you are disgusted by the "jew" smiling at you...Yet in the second sentence, you are merely describing the nationality of someone who threw a smile your way...

Like I said, it is all the way a person percieves things.

No, it's okay to say "Jew," but be sure to capitialize it, because it is a proper noun. It's like saying someone is a Christian, a Muslim, an American, etc.

Actually, Jews are considered a race as well as a religion... it might be more accurate to say ethnicity instead of race, though. I know many people who consider themselves Jewish by birth, regardless of their religious beliefs or lack thereof.

Depends on the context i'm sure. For instance, when the news report says "8 Million jews were killed in the Holocaust" thats fine. But when Ice Cube says "You let a jew break up my crew" on his album, jew gets bleeped out when they play it on the radio. Go figure?

Okay, once again. Jews are NOT a race. Judaism is our religion and Jewishness is our ethnicity, our heritage, our traditions, etc., so, no, it's not racist.

im not sure, i dont think it has anything to do with being racist, but i think the correct term would be Jewish, just so no one would get offended.

No. Of course not. It's a factual description.

(Unless you use it as a verb, or in a derogatory way)
