If Iraq gets to the point of a draft, do you think it's supporters should be forced to go over the ones who say it is immoral and a lost cause? Is it fair to force people who NEVER supported Iraq to fight and die for the guys who got us into Vietnam II (I am not saying Iraq is lost, I am saying it is controversial)?

Practically, no. It doesnt make sense. It wouldnt work. It defys the POINT of a draft! Ethically, however, the supporters should spill their blood for this, not the dems!

A draft is extremely unlikely. The only voices you hear calling for a draft are anti-war types hoping to scare young men (and, presumably, thier parents) into thier corner.

The whole point of a draft, if you have one at all, is that it is random. Both supporters and non-supporters of the war would be drafted, even though anti-war types might well be inclined to acts of sabotage or sedition while in uniform. Afterall, if all you had to do was voice opposition to the war to avoid the draft, you'd be right back to a volunteer army, anyway.

If a person is morally against the war they can legally be conscientious objector.

Do you realize how childish and immature your thinking is? You sound like a pre-teen trying to get out of school or church or chores.

Your logic makes no sense. If there were a draft, it wouldn't just have to be for Iraq, and how the hell would the government know which ones to draft first based on your proposal?

I support our troops and our missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. I have also served 4 years in the U.S. Army. I've done my time, but if they want me back I'll sure join up. My brother is in Iraq right now, I am very proud of him and all the service members over there.

What you are saying is just dumb. If people don't want to be in the military I sure don't want them in there. There isn't going to be a draft anyway. The liberal media would like you to believe that young people are not signing up, but I guarantee you they are.

If that were the case, then the Democrats would have to be drafted first. The media is trying to make it sound like the Repulicans want the draft, but if you look back to last year, Senator Harry Reid (Nevada Dem) Senate Majority Leader, is the one who introduced a bill to re-institute the draft.

As the mother of three active duty service members, I personally feel that every young man and woman should serve at least three years in the military regardless of their political views and social economic status, maybe than more people would appreciate our country and the freedom we enjoy here..... It's sad that we no longer teach our young people to respect our country and what it stands for and that if mom and dad have enough money they can get out of service to our country.... Use to be parents taught their young men that it was a responsibility to serve and give back...

Well, since the only way the draft is coming back is if the Democrats in power re-instate it, I think we should draft nothing but Democrats. After all, it is THEIR idea -- ask Rep. Charlie Rangel, or Sen Harry Reid.

Yes, as Americans, we must put up with stuff-even if we disagree. I thought we learned something from the Anti-War movement in the 60's.

No because probably only a small percentage of those folks are age appropriate for military duty.

Yes, send Hillary!

Actually, that may not be a bad idea. She sure scares the hell out of me!
