Most people answering your question seem to think that the only people on welfare are illegal immigrants. And that is completely not true. There citizens on welfar, and all for different reasons. The illegal immigrants don't make the wages what they are. Employers decide what they are going to pay. There are many homeless citizens that wont do the job for minimal pay, wont live in a less than great home, so who's fault is it they are homeless. Immigrants illegal or not do what they have to in order to keep their families with food on the table, and a roof over their head. And if that means working 10 hour days, and being paid less than minimum wage then that is what is going to be done. So don't blame illegal immigrants for the decisions made by "American Citizens" Everyone has choices in life, and if you would rather be homeless, and beg for money, than working for a better life, even if it meant working in the fields, then quit complaining and blaming others for what you are doing with your life's.

I worked three jobs and paid my way through college, while raising two children and taking care of a home. I cleaned houses, I cooked, I waited tables. I did what I had to do. And was paid well for it.
Now that my children are grown, I gave up my office job to drive a truck. That's a 10-14 hr a day, seven day a week job. Do you really want to work as hard as us LAZY Americans?
Just because there are people greedy enough to employ illegal aliens and exploit them for cheap labor doesn't mean the rest of us are LAZY.

Hmm. I Lived in Florida for about a year, in the Clearwater area. During that time when I needed extra money I would would work for day labor companies. I did those jobs that "Americans won't do" many times. I cleaned up stadiums, worked at contruction sites, in cafeterias, etc. I did the jobs well and without an attitude. You cannnot make a living off those jobs, and you are treated awfully at some of them. You are underpaid and overworked by companies that take advantage of your situation. Americans are not lazy. We are smart and proud, and know when we are being taken advantage of. That is what Americans won't do. Bye the way, you people do not come to work...you come to stay and bring the rest of your family over later. I am sure if the shoe was reversed and millions of Americans were invading your country illegally, and demanding that YOU give THEM special treatment, you would be screaming bloody murder. If you want to work here legally, there are ways to do it quite easily. So stop disregarding our laws, respect our borders, stop coming to this nation and insulting the people who live here and let you stay, and stop DEMANDING anything from us! We will give you what we think you deserve in our own good time. Oh and LEARN TO SPEAK ENGLISH!!!

Get your facts straight! It is the illegals that took jobs away from US citizens, And what they didn't take is now being out sourced to Mexico because they will do it for less. Big companies are moving their processes to places like Mexico and China......Americans better wake up and smell the coffee before we can no longer afford it! Our tax dollars go for medical treatment, food stamps and housing.....And then there is the expense of flipping the bill for all the illegals in our prison system. I could go on and on. and as for being lazy....I have traveled through other countries and trust me....They have their share of lazy too!

you missed the logic train
the point of this country is that if you get a good education and work hard you won't have to do those jobs for a living,,,so going around shooting off your mouth about how wonderful and brilliant you are becuase you scrub toilets or pick lettuce all day,,,is just not going to make sense to Americans,,,,
and we Americans always did those jobs,,,they are transitional jobs for teenagers,,,,not thier friggin carrer,,,,,college students, or people in between, retearded or disabled etc,,,LEGAL immigrant
now people manage mcdonalds for 30 years,,wheras that was supposed to be a training ground for corporate bound employees like it was in the 50's and 60's
this cheesy illegal immigrant toilet cleaning pride is so lame and tired,,and downright pathetic we don't need ya,,never did,,but you pretty much need us,,,if not ,,then adios

Simple reason, really. Citizens and legal residents are subject to employment laws that make hiring them more expensive than hiring illegals who can't complain that someone is paying them less than minimum wage, violating thier collective bargaining rights, or forcing them to live in a ditch in a field while insecticide is sprayed on them.
It's not that Americans won't do certain jobs, it's that American employers would rather exploit illegals.

You're quite behind the times. There are millions of Americans and illegals working in construction, building and trades, maintenance, agriculture, etc. You didn't think that illegals would only stick to picking strawberries, did you? Now they want drivers licenses so they can take over trucking and delivery too. Please, get a clue.

I don't need to now, thanks to my college education. But before, and while I was working my way through school, I did "those" jobs. I'd do them again if I had to. I'm hardly lazy - have you ever worked 3 or 4 jobs at a time?

The American worker is not the problem. It is the illegal trash that sneaks across our borders and takes jobs from scheister, cheepo employers who hire them at less than minimum wage that are the problem.
For me, you are all a bunch of ignorant, filthy, drug-dealing, welfare-stealing wetbacks and this is why we would just as soon shoot you and deport you.
I bet you really don't like having all this racist trash thrown back at you. Fact is, don't dish it, if you can't take it.
