Certainly it's unique and elegant. You should be the "goddess" of your special day! The flutters in the back are a great alternative to a bulky train. I would make the dress entirely white and leave the royal blue for ribbons on the bouquet or even some blue iris with whatever other flowers you are having for the bridal bouquet. Just my preference but it seems that the blue would be a very stark contrast to the softness of the white. Good luck!

I've actually made that pattern up--however I did put some extra darts in for shaping. But it made up beautifully, went together rather easily. What I also did was line the drape so that I didn't have the wrong side showing, this would be a GREAT place to put your royal blue accent--it would be very dramatic! Congrats and good luck!

I agree with everyone else...probably won't be flattering. Sorry. But I definatly think you should make your own dress...what a great idea! Maybe something that cinches at the waist...or a simple empire waist gown would look very greek goddess, not too hard to make....and still be flattering.

It seems some what ill fitting. I think it may be very difficult to look good in a dress like that, since it would be custom made for you you would have no idea how it looks on you until its finished. If you dont like it your still stuck paying the cost to make it.
I also think the drapingin back and beading in fron tover whelms the dress and the model.

Well let's see. How tall are you? What is your frame?? Do you have long hair??? What time of year is your wedding? Where do you live?
It looks a little too "greek goddess" for me. Not to undermine it too much but my first thought was "costume". Lo & Behold it is under "McCall's Costumes". Admirable you want to save money & make your own, but ya might want to continue looking.

That is beautiful but I think it would be for more your bridemiads than you. Go to carabella.com and check out some of there dresses on their and see if you like the style they have a few that are simple but look like wedding dresses.

ok...being honest here...I like the style at the back if it werent coming from the shoulders like wings. if it started centered at the top of the dress like where the zipper would start then I think it would be nice. and I dont like the chain like things at the front either...it kinda reminds me of a halloween costume.

It is very unique, and if it fits in well with the motif of your wedding, it should turn out nicely. It does look like it would be hard to keep in place (especially around the shoulders) but since it is tailor-made to fit you, it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
