You might need to reload the drivers for your cd/dvd drive. Depending on the make of the drive you can just go to a support website and download the latest drivers (find the model of either your computer, if the drive came with the computer, or of the drive if you bought and installed it yourself). 9 times out of 10, that will fix the drive problems.

I'd suggest that you check to make sure you have the correct drivers and everything like that. If you don't, you should go to the manufacturer's website and see if you can download them.

Also, if it's not that, and it did work a while ago, I'd suggest doing a System Restore.

If that didn't work, I'd suggest maybe taking it somewhere to have it looked at because of the possibility of a hardware failure or something around those lines.

does the cd rom spin ?? does the light come on like it trying to do something ?? does windows reconize the drive ?? is it listed under my computer as a cdrom drive ?? sorry for the questions , but we need to know what it is and isnt doin , you may need new drivers for the cdrom (wich means you have to find out what model, and brand of cd rom it is .) you may also have to find updated firm ware drivers as well ..
