I suppose just calling her up and saying "sorry" is the simple answer. However, if she is apparently a little "high-maintenance" you can always buy lunch or flowers, or show up with coffee and a dvd, Make a mix CD....steal her a puppy. Whatever tends to tug at someone's weaknesses. If she loves art, paint her something or buy a poster. If she loves music, buy her a cd or make a mix. Send her an e-card, whatever; all other people want to see is that you care....
And don't argue if she's mad for you ditching her, it will only make matters worse, just say sorry.

Call up since you are on the phone already. Saying sorry might make it. But get ready for a time you may not receive an invitation again.

Let her take you to bible class so that they can show you that Jesus never set a date for his return. Then maybe you'll learn some maturity instead of blaming your inability to show up for an appointment on others.

Tell her the truth, why did you lie to your friend, where I come from you can tell your friends anything from "I don't what to, -to " my dad just dies" or "I'm getting married. And then let her make up the punishment, if she is your friend, I bet you will be suprised. GOOD LUCK
