No way, still a Christian

You have lost respect for the "in your face wackos" that don't know how to have a decent Christian conversation without judging and condemning. Most of us are not like that. If you took the time, you would probably find most of us very likable. I am offended by some of the over zealous answers on this site written by "Christians" and embarrassed for all the Christians by those comments.

Hi I'm a Catholic (and therefore Christian) and get posts deleted even when I talk politely about atheists! And in response to some other posters... if people just practise their religion and "leave others in peace", then their religion cant mean much to them.
If u reely believe in your religion and believe that its the only truth, then how can u sit meekly back and leave every one else to pursue the wrong path... u want to help them!
So reely "radical" is the only way 2 go when u know the great truth and want to spread it in an increasingly anti-Christian world!

I wasn't favorable about religion beforehand, but some of the fundamentalists have scared me. Their views on science, sexuality, and the universe were completely delusional. I've read a thousand rants for creationism, "jesus wants you saved," and diatribes against homosexuality.

I'm also finding out that religion isn't about education, but emotional causes. Nobody will be convinced by scientific evidence if they're relying on their emotions to force an issue. "Feelings" will hold sway, regardless of the faith.

As for the moderate or liberal religious folks who don't put their views into government, I have far more respect. Party on!

I have to honestly say yes. With all of the hate so many Christians project against people who don't believe as they do, or people who are different in any way, it has most definitely affected how I feel about most Christians, especially those here on R&S.
It seems to me that YA has an increasing number of ignorant, closeminded, bigoted hatefilled, self-righteous Christians.
It is really sad to see, since I know many Christians who are NOT like that at all.

It's a free for all here. Remember that this is only the Internet. It's not real life. It only reflects on real life. Don't let a couple of people on the Internet influence your opinions about people. There are many Christians who deserve respect and there are many who don't, but you really can't tell which is which on Yahoo Answers.

Me. I started out as agnostic as well (though Y!A certainly is not the sole reason I'm an atheist now), and I think I have a little resentment built up for christians that I didn't have before. It's kind of sad.

I cant believe that you base your opinion of a whole lot of people just from a small dissection of the population that is here on R & S. I will agree that Christianity does have a lot of whackos. I however just look at as an opportunity to educate and enlighten. Good day.

I've lost respect for the self-righteous, hypocritical Christians and gained respect for people who really apply the teachings of Jesus to their everyday life, like Debra M...

Nah.

Despite the fact that there are some incredibly annoying fundies on R&S, there are also some very amiable Christians here.

I'm convinced that the fundies would be abrasive no matter what their choice of religion.

Yeah... i'm not really anti-anyone, but seeing the responses, getting reported for SIMPLE differences of opinion combined with the things i saw when i was a churchgoer.... I have to say that i've lost a lot of respect for the christian faith as a whole.

When you're involved & "enthusiastic" about it you don't see how screwed up it is.... but then you start noticing things & when you are outside looking in.... you see how f**ked up it all really is. It's sad & utterly pathetic.
