I'm just a bit tired of the hourly 'Why are atheists even here?' questions. So I thought I'd turn the tables a bit with this one. Where else can you find this many atheists in one place? Links or locations would be great.

There are plenty of atheists at the local freethinkers' meeting. Online, though, this is a great place to find them. I'm a theist, but have no problem with the atheists being here. I've learned a lot from them, and look forward to their continued input.

Certainly not in a foxhole, you would be lucky to get the opinion of even one there.

There are so many atheists on R&S because atheism is really a religion. Atheists believe that matter has all the attributes and creative powers that Christians credit a supernatural God with.
In fact, atheists believe that matter created itself out of nothing.
Although they won't admit it, by crediting matter with the attributes of God, atheists are effectively worshipping 'matter' as a god.
Of course, matter can be represented by any material object such as the Sun, Moon, an animal or idols of wood, stone etc.
So atheists are actually a modernised version of the idol worshippers of old, who also believed that matter (represented by their idols) had the same miraculous powers that should be attributed to God.

Check out Google Groups (there are other methods, might want to ask your ISP about their Usenet offerings) for their Usenet coverage of alt.atheism. It's arguably the biggest collection of atheists on the Internet.

i'm a christian but as someone who wants a place that he can speak freely about what he believes, i welcome atheists.
and don't let these other christians disturb you, they just ACT tough. real christians love the atheist as if they were beleivers. because the god they beleive in tells them that they have no idea what happens after they die, so treat all people they way we think we ought to be treated.
anyways, you are right. it is a shame people hate on you guys. christians act like atheists are murderers and child molester's. they are just people who haven't witnessed the power of god. no reason to hate.

Blessed are they that hunger and thirst for righteousness for their's is the Kingdom of Heaven.
It is o.k. to be thirsty for the right things such as the water of eternal life offered to us by our Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ.
