I plan on running 20 minutes a day whenever i can (which is about 4-5 days), lifting weights (and pushups), ab workouts, and lunges. I also plan to eat around 1500 calories a day since my BMR knocks out all those calories and then i can burn even more through exercise.

Is this a good plan and/or is there some other things i can do to help me lose weight? I plan to lose about 40 pounds by february. Thanks in advance.

there are no stats so i cant tell if 1500cal is enough for you.
you need to do more cardio to lose weight 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (the first 20-30min body is burning its carb sources and only then start burning fat). weight training is good - but it doesnt burn fat, it builds muscle which makes areas look bigger since there is a layer of fat on top of muscle.

It sounds like a good start. Losing weight is a simple equation: if you burn more calories than you eat, the weight will come off. Start off by estimating how many calories you burn each day using the calorie calculator http://straighthealth.com/pages/tools/caloriecalclb.html This will give you an idea of how many calories to eat. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. To lose 1 pound per week you need to create a calorie deficit (burn more than you eat) of 500 calories per day. To lose 2 pounds a week, you have to double the deficit to 1000 calories per day. You can achieve this by eating less, exercising more or a combination of both.

Sounds enormously rigorous, and do not anticipate to weigh one hundred ten-115lbs. Why? considering you definitely are going to construct a colossal quantity of muscles doing that. Also I endorse taking a minimum of two days of in the course of a activities like that, considering it appears like you're doing two-three hours of lively undertaking daily, that's VERY bad.
