To all theists---Only a fool would believe that its reasonable for any god to cause others to suffer or die so that the lives of others will be less boring, and that they will feel "blessed" to have survived because of this "God-made miricle".

Instead of pondering how God might have been trying to improve man, you should be thinking of some way we can improve God, because He sure seems to need a lot of education about morality.

What kind of world would this be if God stepped in and altered the laws of the universe everytime someone might get hurt? How could we live in a world with no constants, no universal laws of nature?? The earth has been set into motion, God isn't about to step in and change what is happening.

It's not the devil's fault either. Some of it is even our own doing, killing off our environment, creating global warming, pollution, all that stuff does have an effect on nature.

And sometimes, stuff just happens. If you notice, when these disasters hit, the good side of humanity gets a chance to display itself. Devastation yes, but look for the silver lining. We all do our best growing in the face of adversity. Without it, life would be very boring.

When will you stop looking at things such as this as proof there is not a God! This is not Heaven. God uses things like this as an opportunity to have people on the fence show some Faith or lack of!

I hate to see people die, get injured or that are left homeless!! However think about what happens after these tragedies, New Orleans, the Tsunami a few years back...what happens!!! Thousands of people step up and act like they should! They act like they love their brothers and sisters as the Bible has stated us too!

Maybe if we treated each other like we should EVERYDAY things like this wouldn't happen or need to happen.

Stop taking an easy way out and just saying "how could there be a loving" or "all powerful God" when things like this happen. It was never stated things would be easy and they shouldn't be we are a bunch of spoiled brat's and your view reflects that.

Treat each other as you would want to be treated! This should be always not just when a tragedy occurs!

I guess there is always going to be someone or something to blame. It sound like you have had a hard time lately. Natural disasters occur all over the world. If you think about it, people throughout the world don't call them unnatural disasters or supernatural disasters. They are natural disasters. Not even God-created disasters, but natural ones. It is a terrible thing to hear of anyone losing there lives or all their possessions to a tornado, earthquake, tsunami, floods or fires, etc. It's beyond our control. Being there for others greif is important when a catastrophe occurs.

Did you know that America is the Tornado Capital of the World? The Europians came and conquered, its not the gods fault they live there. Did you know that hundreds of thousands are starving in death camps in Africa? Was it a Tornado? No it is the Government, with its henchmen who are attacking the people and running them off the land! Ever hear of Genocide? It is the opposite of Genesis.
In America's case its - location location location, as they say, not god.

I know those people in that Town,

And almost all have a strong faith in God.

These are good, hard working people.

God was not picking on them, it is a miracle that only 9 died. May God bless their souls. They are not mad at God for the Tornado, they are thanking God for saving so many of them. Maybe that is why, so that they can show others what Faith is all about.

Please learn.

I pray for you also.

Peace!

if you do not believe that there's a God, then why blame Him?

God has His reasons and His will.. Who are we to question Him?

Was it God who asked them to build their homes in that place? When you settle yourself in a place and call it home, you do not make a decision in a split second, you think it through and you get to know what area you are settling in. Kansas is known for its tornadoes, if one decided to settle there knowing this fact, why blame God for a decision, they themselves made?

And please stop finger pointing the blame to anyone, from this incident, what we could do is to repair the damage and help each other.

Have we entered the Paradise of God? If so why did he sacrifice his flesh for yours ...if indeed we are all perfect and in a perfect world. Sin entered the world through man and so does death it is a eventuality of sin. We are not yet in God's heavenly kingdom but we still reside in this sinful world where there is disease and death.God did pay the price of death for those who accept it and this gift grants you an eternal blessing.

The pertinent question about god is not whether he exists, but whether he intervenes in the normal order of everyday life for those who believe in him.

I think the answer on this one is a pretty clear 'no'. Oddly enough, for those who lost their homes in Hurricane Katrina- 80% claimed that it increased their faith in god.

people are really funny, huh?

Natural disasters are a "natural" part of mortal life. Before coming to this earth God explained to all of us that by coming here we would be subjected to certain natural forces. You are also subject to the consequences of sin and the results of choices made by you and by others, and God will not thwart His children’s ability to choose good or evil. Yet, no matter what happens, you are a child of God and He loves you. He knows everything you go through and wants you to know that your time on this earth is just a small part of your eternal life.

God takes no pleasure in your suffering, but He knows that difficulties, regardless of their cause, can bring His children closer to Him and can make them stronger as they endure faithfully ( Revelation 3:19) . His Son, Jesus Christ, suffered all things. When you turn to Him you can be assured that He understands and can help you through your trials with His love and direction. When you have faith in God and His plan, you can be assured that there is purpose in all that happens to you here on this earth. Coping with calamities can strengthen you and call forth compassion, helping you learn, grow, and serve others. Dealing with adversity is one of the chief ways in which you are tested and tutored in mortality. Our loving Heavenly Father has the ability to compensate us for any injustices we may be called upon to endure in this mortal life. If we endure faithfully he will reward us beyond our ability to comprehend in the life to come.

As the Lord told Joseph Smith during a period of intense suffering: “Know thou, my son, that all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good. The Son of Man hath descended below them all. Art thou greater than he?” (Doctrine and Covenants 122:7–8).
