go to sally beauty supply sotre and get a professional color for it if your hair was light before you colored it black then it will fade quickly you will need to color it again for it to stay but i deffinently will suggest getting a proff black color so it will not dry your hair out im a stylist so if you have any other questions feel free to ask good luck!!

Ok..First? make sure you are using a peremanent color instead of a semi or demi permanent color..they fade and grow out. Also, make sure you use a shampoo for colored hair. There's alot of shampoos out there that are made for blonde,(which the actual shampoo is blue to counteract the gold/brassiness), brown, black, redheads.....they don't "color" your hair but will enhance what you have. Make sure when you redo your color.. IF you have regrowth(roots showing), that you apply the color to that part first for the first 90% of the time then pull it thru onto your ends for another 5-7 minutes.. Your hair is like a sponge..the drier parts,(your ends,) will soak up the color twice as fast so if you put the color all over your hair, your roots will be lighter than your ends...your ends will get really damaged also. Good Luck..hope this helps!

The same sort of thing happened to me. I got blonde highlights (my hair is a dark brown) and I hated them. I dyed my hair back only it was slightly darker. A few weeks later that colour washed out and the highlights came back. I was so upset becasue I thought it looked really good darker. I wanted to go and get it done again but I figured it wasn't worth wasting more money on it. I would stick with what you have for now and if you really really want to change it then go for it. It is all up to you. 1 thing that I did realize though (after the highlights and everything) is that I was much happier with my normal color. Hope I helped!

Try waiting 2 days after your hair is colored before washing it. When you wash it, use COOL water only! Hot water opens the cuticle of the hair and allows the color to fade out. You can also get shampoos that are designed for black colored hair. Good Luck

its really hard to die light coloured hair (naturally) a really rich, dark colour like black or dark red. And usually it does exactly what you've said. I would wait a while before you re-dye it cos you don't want to ruin it too much. Try a really high quality dye, it might be expensive bi=ut it should stay in for longer. You could try getting it done by a professional hairdresser.
