Yes - Assuming the DVR has an output that is compatible with the input of the DVD recorder. Most units have multiple inputs and outputs so one of them should work.. Note: Some DVD recorders make you format the DVD before you record but that function is built into the DVD recorder.

You are allowed to record most TV shows on a DVR and transfer them to DVD.
