When I was in Iraq, a man once asked me, "How long will your Army be in Iraq?" I told him, "do you remember WWII?" He said yes, I told him, "Well, we stopped fighting there in 1945, and we still have Soliders there." When he thought about that perspective, he was shocked. I had to laugh out loud when I saw his reaction.

My husband is in the marine corps and in Iraq right now. This is second deployment to Iraq and he has seen a lot. Our men will come home when Iraq becomes a safe place to live. And by the way, regardless of what everyone else says, things are getting better. My husband works with Iraqis everyday and every day they thank him and everyone for being there. Regardless of what news says, regardless of what anyone says, we are helping them regain there strength so that they can do it on their own. And even when they can, we will still not be completely gone, but always there to help.

He is a question for you my friend.
Why is the sky blue? Cause GOD loves the Infantry.

We are still in Iraq due to the conflict over there. Because the White House the Congress, and the HofR have made this their WAR for being re-elected. If America finishes it the Cons will get re-elected, and if the Dems can drag it out and make the Bush clan look bad then they will be elected. Hardly ever in Washington is it a question between right and wrong but a question of how will I get re-elected. 3000+ lives are on all of their hands. EVERY one of them.

we are in Iraq to destroy the terrorists ability to harm us, although Al Qaeda has grown much stronger as a result of our presence.
We are there fighting them on their own soil rather than our own except that they still stage attacks around the globe and even attempted one in N.J.
We are there to give the Iraqis a chance to stabilize their government and they might get on that project after their two month recess.
We are over there to help bring security and safety to the Iraqi people even though most of the people we kill are Iraqi citizens.
We're over there for a lot of BS reasons and the only ones that seem to be benefiting are the politicians who only have power because of our military presence.

They will be there for quite a long time yet. It will be a worse experience than Vietnam. I just feel so sorry for the genuine Americans who are not thick headed and full of their own self importance. But i must say one thing a large proportion in the American army etc are gung ho idiots, they kill their own people because they are just obsessed with shooting things. Lets just hope that it all ends soon before more innocent people in the countries that you are in die. GET REAL !!!!!
