Seems one common feature of religions is that they say we should somehow improve ourselves--to be more loving, more appreciative of life, of God, to pray more, to do more good works, to be more self-accepting (!).
Are there any that say, "You're fine, just the way you are."
I'm ready to stop trying to change. It doesn't work anyway.

The Church of the Subgenius makes no demands of it's followers, except the occational donation. It even encourages people to quite their jobs and slack off. You should check it out. It's the One True Faith.

If there are, I haven't run into them. I know a good bit about the bible. I spent hours and hours with a concordance checking the root of words and trying to understand exactly what the passage said before it was translated 3 or 4 times. I was not trying to "save" my soul or anything, I am just an interested sort of person who enjoys that kind of thing. Most know what they have been told where as I know what I have proved to be true and what my mind tells me cannot be true.I figure that whatever a person believes is his own business. I did have a problem with the only church I went to many years ago and I learned pretty quickly that a fellow has to jump one way or the other. There is no in between. Just take it easy and don't let anyone CAUSE you to jump one way or another. Do what you think you need to do. It works for me. I haven't really dropped the hammer on anyone and don't plan to. I don't care what the other fellow believes. It doesn't affect me. I enjoy reading the opinions and weird ideas. Life is too short. You only go around once. Take care. Raymond

With that attitude, of course it's not going to work. In order to change, you must first want to change, then you must follow through. One of the best things about my church is the constant encouragement to improve. They aren't saying they don't like you the way you are or that you aren't good enough. They are simply wanting you to have the very best out of life, and you can only obtain that by doing the best you can and being the best you can be.
I had had many failed attempts when trying to change various things in my past. The last time was a success. What wasn't I doing before? Praying! God WILL help us where we fall short, ask him and he will help you too!
God bless!
Sarah

Paganism. You are fine the way you are and have no need to earn divine love. You just have to see it and accept it and there are no strings attached. Living and being are enough.

(Christianity is not about change or self improvment. It is about hypocrisy and forgiveness for how you are with a get out of hell free card. I find it to be such a strange mythology)

You're right, most are about self-improvement.
However, those JW's, though still talking about improvement, don't have that as their main theme.
Their main theme is Daniel 2:44.

Got this from 'Read or Die' -"If you don't grow, you don't deserve to live".

And I got this from a cartoon. A CARTOON! And this anime has absolutely nothing to do with religion at all.

Re-edit: But no, why would there be some kind of religion like that.

i study wiccan and you are who you are and you make the religion itself your own. the "improvement" is to learn more! i dont have to try to be someone im not or do something i normally wouldnt, i am my own person who happens to have a religion that is also my own! this is the best way to understand us more

The dynamics in the universe is about change. Some go up, some go down. It is your call.

Yes it is about improvement.

If it didn't work for you then you never really believed it would.
