Can anyone help? I have a VW T4 transporter and would like to fit some after market speakers, does anyone know the size and easyest way to fit them myself. Also I want to fit a leisure battery, does anyone know, or know where i can get a wiring diagram and/or information on wiring a second battery straight to my alternator.

The battery question is easy to solve. Go to most auto shops or definately to any Motor home or trailer parts place and get a stand by battery relay (or whatever its called).

Its a simple relay that isolates your main battery for use when the car is starting or running. Then you wire your second battery to it and
a) When the car is starting only the main battery is used (this avoids a sudden draw down of hooking up a dead battery to the hot one)
b) When the engine is running BOTH batteries are charged
c) When the key is off accessory power comes only from the other (you call it the leisure) battery.

THe relay is about the size of a small tea cup but you will need to buy battery cables and such. The biggest problem is locating the second battery.

I had one in my old vw bus.. worked like a charm. I could park and camp all night with a light or TV running and in the morning know that I could fire the engine up.

Well that's one out of two for you...

For the speakers I would take the van to various small radio/installation shops and listen to their recommendations... they have prob. been there and done that before...(plus you will get the price to do it too).

good luck....
