does anyone have any tips in how to french plat your owna hair ive tried but had very little luck?

I've been french braiding my own hair for over 10 years.
* Use a comb, not a brush and comb your hair first.
* With both thumbs, gather hair at the "crown" and divide it with your fingers into three sections.
* Overlap each section alternating left and right.
* Gather two more sections with your thumbs while holding the braid with your fingers and add it to each side, not the middle.
* Overlap sections again and gather more hair. Continue until you're at the nape. This is where it becomes a regular braid and continue overlapping hair.
* End at desired length and wrap it with a hair tie.
With practice, you will soon have a perfect french braid. Have fun!

I'd never been able to French braid my own hair, but I'd just read a good review of a tool to help. I did a webseach and ordered one "buy now" via eBay and am awaiting delivery.
Rather than list brand name, I'll just put the search parameters in the source box, along with where I'd read the review.

srand in front of a mirror and then get somebody to hold a mirror behind your head because of this you can see what you are doing. From then onwards it's fairly simple. Just do what you do to anyone elses hair.

Just keep practicing... and practicing... the heardest part is doing it backwards on yourself.
