Amen! These people are not hurting the economy. That being said, they are damaging our culture by refusing to assimilate, but in termsof economics they are a blessing, not a curse.

ok, I admit, I skimmed that, thank you to plenty to envision. the project should not be activity loss or benefit, the project is legality. the rustic has regulations, those regulations ought to be obeyed, in the event that they are no longer obeyed and enforced, then why have the regulations in any respect? end turning it right into a ethical argument, or a job argument, it somewhat is beside the point, the project is, those human beings circulate the border illegally. they have criminal potential to get right here, that they do no longer isn't my project. "Is the “community-born” worker, who didn’t get the activity, worse off? No, he wouldn’t are turning out to be the activity the two way. His hard paintings fee better than the citizens have been prepared and able to pay. He didn’t lose a job via fact the activity grew to become into by no potential his to lose." And what on the subject of the folk who're prepared to pay that plenty, yet come to a decision to bypass with somebody else via fact they're extra budget friendly (via immigrant hard paintings)? Now he's worse off, via fact it somewhat is better than only "Oh crap, I lost a bid for a settlement.", he can not compete in any respect at that element. so which you're incorrect, immigrants DO steal jobs, only no longer continuously, like interior the difficulty you defined. that still would not substitute the reality that it somewhat is unlawful.

That only counts people getting unemployment benefits not the ones whos benefits have run out yet still dont have a new job. Illegals take jobs that would normally be done by teens as summer jobs (picking crops, fast food, stocking stores). They dont claim unemployment they just dont get a job and arent counted. Plenty of places have unemployment of over 10%. Michigan is around 7%. Mississippi is very high too. Take a trip to Detroit, Flint, Saginaw or Toledo Ohio and I bet its double that.

ONCE AGAIN.......The unemployment rate is based ONLY on those people who are on un-employment at this time. Once your time is up whether you have a job or not you aren't counted anymore. Unemployment doesn't include people who quit, people new in the workforce, self-employed people who have closed their business, people working temporary jobs and those working part-time who's hours have been cut and are looking for employment. Many businesses have a way of driving people out of their jobs so they can't qualify for un-employment or saying their present position has be done away with but you can work part time in another position for lower pay. As long as they offer you ANYTHING.....you can't get benefits. The "at will" option most employers have can fire you at any time and don't even need a reason....you can't qualify for un-employment then. Basicly the only people who do, are big companies who close shop. They have found ways to skirt the rules so very few get unemployment who rightfully should and therefore very few are counted in the un-employment rate. That's also a NATIONAL average. Our's is close to 6% in this area. It's much higher in some areas than others. Typically we have 3-5000 people showing up for a hand-full of low wage jobs. We don't NEED illegals here ....... there isn't agriculture here anymore....they are taking factory jobs that people here desperatly need and they are keeping qualified people out of the workforce with the "must speak Spanish" bs. We have areas here where "anchor babies" are working for fast food chains and can't understand "ketchup please". I am supposed to speak Spanish but they don't have to speak English?
I guess alot depends on where you live and what businesses are there and whether or not they are taking jobs you need or your adult kids need etc.
I just know we sure don't "need" them here.

The unemployment rate does not take into account people that who were only able to find part time jobs. It also does not take into account people that gave up looking for work.
1) ILLEGAL ALIENS TAKE 1/3 OF NEW JOBS
by: www_minutemanproject_com
Latinos entering the country between 2000 and 2004 were hired to fill more than one-third of all new jobs in the United States last year according to the Pew Hispanic Center.

2) 97% OF ILLEGALS TAKING JOBS AWAY
and only 3% work in farming.
"While 3 percent of unauthorized workers are employed in agriculture, 33 percent have jobs in service industries and substantial shares can be found in construction and extractive occupations (16%) and in production, installation and repair (17%)."Pew Hispanic Center Offers Fuller Portrait of Unauthorized Migrants http://www.tmcnet.com/usubmit/2006/02/10/1360221.htm

One reason the unemployment figures aren't changing because the White House has ordered the Department of Labor to change how it COUNTS unemployed 4 times in the past six years... each time counting fewer of the actual unemployed.
Another reason is that many of the illegal invaders are working for cash under the counter.
Thirdly, according to the FBI, many of the illegal invaders are making their income from illegal enterprises... the Latino gang MS -13 is one of the fastest growing criminal organizations in the world and they now have braches in everyone of our major cities and many smaller cities.
A better way to get an ACCURATE picture of the number of unemployed is to look at the Department of Labor's EMPLOYED figures for the past 15 years... it will show you that there are actually around 28 million not showing up as employed!.

This is a nation wide rate, for one; in places where the local economy is small and illegal immigration is rampant (small border towns for instance) it is likely a different story.
The NATIONAL unemployment rate is low because the national economy is creating many new jobs every quarter, however, the whole nation is not seeing this "job boom"
I have nothing against immigrants coming and competing for jobs, I just think its fair if they paid the same taxes I do when they get thier pay check...

There are new companies opening every day, which leads to more employment opportunities. There are also many companies closing every day for many different reasons. The fluctuation of job openings vary from day to day, so I'd have to say that those figures are not correct.
Also, illegal immigrants are not registered in this country for unemployment so that would also cause the numbers to hold their place.

You recall incorrectly - the unemployment rate does /not/ include people who are no longer actively looking for work.
Such 'discouraged workers,' may well include many Americans who would otherwise be doing jobs for employers that currently prefer to exploit illegals.

Well if the illegals weren't here, the unemployment rate would be lower since they wouldn't be here to take the jobs. Wages would also be higher!
One area that is beginning to be a problem is the trucking industry. Mexican drivers can now drive where ever they want. Since they are cheaper, companies will hire them. The result is unemployed truckers due to illegal aliens!

"The increase in the unemployment rate was muted due to a large surge of people exiting the labor force, which masked a decline in employment." - a quote from the article bereal posted.
