Actually there are a couple companys out there that specialize in making bikes for the bigger dudes. I know that kona makes a mountain bike called the Hoss which is built for men just like you. I give you the link so u can check it out. There are two models of the bike the deluxe has better components and there for is more expensive. The basic Hoss is 899 but i bet if you look around you could find a used one.

You can definitely get a bicycle. Today's bikes are incredibly light yet strong. I would go to a shop and check out what they have to say. I'm am sure that they will find a suite of mountain, hybrid, or fitness bikes to serve your needs. I would probably spend in the $400 range. You want to be sure that you get a quality wheel that will support you. if the bike experiences any weight related problems, it will be in the wheels.

Get what you call a 24" Freestyle Cruiser. I know Haro Bikes makes them. They are for you! And they are super fun so it wont just sit in your garage.

yes definately!!! good advice above!! it's a great way to get into excercise, before you know it you won't be 300lbs. anymore. If you get a motorcycle you'll probably get lazy and heavier... good luck!!!
